Pen & Paper

Good old pen and paper still takes in a good part in my work. Design sketches are mostly still done this way. I am used to sketching nearly all day as well.. just jotting down ideas I might have etcetera. Sometimes I still make full drawings in pencil or pen. But mostly when I do it's free time for my own pleasure.

Before october 2006 I used a Canon Powershot s50, which has worked well for me but at the end of october I started using a canon eos 350d and nowadays my gear looks like this:
- canon EOS 30D - canon 50mm 1.4 USM
- sigma 28-70mm 2.8
- sigma 70-200mm 2.8
- canon 580EX II

After design sketches and/or taking the pictures I move things into the computer. I mostly work in Adobe Photoshop in a Windows environnement. Moving to a Mac is for the future although I will be keeping a windows machine for testing purposes and coding most likely. Inside photoshop I usually exchange the mouse for my Wacom tablet which makes it less stressy and personally allows me to do better things than with just a mouse. Aside from Photoshop I use programs like Illustrator, Indesign, Macromedia Flash and Alias Wavefront Maya.

Most of the coding I do today is done in weblanguages such as XHTML, CSS and Javascript. Some PHP and actionscript but nothing major. I also have some basic knowledge of XML, RSS, Java, Java3d and C++ but hardly use those languages. I mostly focus on the design side of coding as I saw the programmers at my internship do things I wouldnt be able to pull off.
